Your book deservesan audience.
Digital PR and Amazon Ads for self-published and independent authors. I find the angle the media wants, pitch it one editor at a time, and tie every piece of coverage to what you actually want from your book.
Authors withsomething to say.
Book publicity for the authors traditional publishing overlooks. I work best with people whose book is part of a bigger goal: a profile, a business, a platform, a cause.
Your book as a credential
Founders, coaches, lawyers, veterans and specialists who want the book to raise their profile, win speaking and grow a business, not just sell copies.
A story worth telling
A strong human story with a regional, community or specialist media angle. I find the outlets your readers already trust.
A PR partner to refer to
Independent and hybrid publishers and memoir services looking for a reliable publicist for their authors, with clear reporting throughout.
The book PRcampaign.
A three-month campaign, run by me personally. No junior account team, no blanket newswire blasts.
- Angle development and positioning. What makes you newsworthy beyond the book.
- Press release and branded press kit. Everything an editor needs, in one place.
- A verified, targeted media list. One right contact per outlet, not a bought database.
- Bespoke one-to-one pitching to press, podcasts, broadcast and trade media.
- Contributed articles and bylines that showcase your expertise.
- Speaking and event approaches where they fit your goals.
- Regular written updates so you always know what has been pitched and what has landed.
Every campaign is scoped and quoted around your book and your goals.
Amazon Ads
Set-up and management of sponsored ads, so publicity and sales activity work together. I explain every metric in plain English.
Launch readiness
Author website, Amazon page and conversion fixes, so the attention PR creates turns into readers.
Phase two
Speaker positioning, seasonal hooks and follow-on angles to keep momentum after the first three months.
Angle first,book second.
Editors do not cover books. They cover stories, expertise and ideas their readers care about. So that is what I pitch.
Angle and media list
We agree your goals, I find the angles and build a verified list of the outlets your audience reads.
Press kit and release
A press release, author bio, sample Q&A and assets, written for journalists, not for the back cover.
One-to-one pitching
Every pitch is written for one editor at one outlet, sent from a verified address and followed up properly.
Reporting and follow-through
Regular written updates, interviews coordinated, and coverage shared so you can use it for months.
The anglemakes the story.
Four recent campaigns, and the angle that got each one into the media its readers actually follow.
Chaka M. Patterson
The angle: a book on the public company General Counsel role, repositioned as a leadership title rather than legal trade.
Willette Alston-Hockaday
The angle: a veteran's memoir of resilience and service, taken to regional TV and press where her story resonates most.
Ric Edelman
The angle: a wildlife book taken to specialist conservation media, where readers care most about the cause.
Emily Pearson
The angle: workplace wellbeing expertise, pitched to national broadcast and the HR trade press.
What PR canand can't do.
What it can do
- Earn coverage that builds your credibility
- Open doors to podcasts, bylines and speaking
- Give you assets to use for years
- Support sales when paired with Amazon Ads
What it can't do
- Guarantee coverage: it is earned, not bought
- Promise bestseller status
- Replace a strong book and a clear angle
- Work miracles with two weeks' notice
Realistic success is a steady run of relevant coverage in the outlets your readers trust, a few standout pieces, and a stronger platform for whatever comes next. I will tell you on our first call whether I think your book can get there.
Authors andpublishers.
From first-time authors to acquisitions editors.
Kris has a great understanding of social media and is a highly effective book publicist. He gets reviews in places where most publicists fear to tread. Highly recommended.
I would have no hesitation in recommending him to every publisher and author that requires PR advice and support. Knowledgeable, innovative, client focused and commercially aware.
I have had the pleasure of working with Kris to market both my book and my business. His diligence, expertise, and commitment have been exceptional. I recommend him without reservation.
Goodquestions.
How far before launch should I start?
Ideally three to four months before publication, so there is time to build the angle and pitch long-lead titles. Campaigns for books already published work too: I simply lead with the story and your expertise rather than the launch date.
How much does it cost?
Every campaign is bespoke. The fee depends on your goals, the markets and media we target, and any add-ons such as Amazon Ads. You get a fixed quote before anything starts, and there are no retainers you can't leave.
Do you pitch UK or US media?
Both, and Asia-Pacific. Recent campaigns have landed US legal, business and broadcast outlets and UK national, trade and specialist media. We choose markets based on where your readers are.
Should I do PR or Amazon Ads?
They do different jobs. PR builds credibility and reach; ads capture people already browsing for books like yours. Many authors start with PR and add ads once there is coverage and reviews to point to.
What do you need from me?
Finished or near-final copies of the book, a good author photo, an hour for an angle workshop, and your availability for interviews. I handle the rest.
Let's find yourreaders.
Send me your book title, publication date, what you want the book to achieve and your rough budget. I reply within two working days.
If your date is close, say so. I will tell you honestly whether there is enough lead time.
